The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has evaluated our Resource Sorter – Construction (Micro-credential) course and assessed it to be equivalent to 5 credits (5 x 10 notional learning hours) at Level 2 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF). The course gives construction workers the tools they need to reduce construction waste to landfill by diverting it to be reused/recycled and talks about our actions to avoid waste altogether.
We have two trained Resource Sorters on our AUT A1 site, Marc and Maria (shown in photos) from the New Zealand Labour Exchange, and they have made a huge difference to the way we work. We always have a tidy resource sorting area, and over 90% of waste by weight is being diverted from landfill. Check out some of the work they do to keep our site humming in the video.
We have brought in an independent facilitator, Sime Group, who will deliver this course to anyone, anywhere in New Zealand. Contact sime@simegroup.co.nz to find out more.
